Hon. Umar Daware attended Daware primary school from 1974-1980 where he obtained his first Primary School leaving certificate and proceeded to Yelwa Government Secondary School from 1980-1985.

In his desire to improve his academic standards, Umar gained admission into University of Maiduguri in 1986 from and he graduated in 1990 with BSc. Hons in Economics. Incompliance with the Federal Government requirement for the 1-year mandatory NYSC, Umar was posted to Imo State, for his service. Umar later in 1991 advanced his studies when he acquired an MBA degree in Finance from the Moddibo Adama University, Yola in 2007.

Umar began his career as Banking Officer with the then Habib Nigeria bank Ltd in 1992. Through dint of hard work and dedication to duties, Umar was appointed a Branch Manager in 2001, and later he was promoted to the enviable position of Senior Manager of the Bank. Umar took up appointment with the American University of Nigeria, Yola as Director Purchase and Supplies in the year 2010. But his penchant desire for banking job again took Umar away to First Bank Plc, when he was appointed as a Business Development Manager in charge of Adamawa and Taraba States, and he served from 2010-2015.

While serving the Bank, former Governor of Adamawa, Senator Bindow Umaru Jibrilla nominated Umar to serve in the Adamawa State cabinet, as Honorable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, a position he held from 2015 to 2018, and contributed greatly to the development of his state.

Umar is a seasoned banker, a financial expert and a hard-working individual, better described as an easy going fellow, who is level headed, composed, calm and meticulous in all assigned responsibilities. Umar is joining Iya Patu Foundation as Lead -Investment & Finance.
