Nourah was the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources & Planning of the American University of Nigeria, Yola. He brought the wealth of three decades of professional experience to his current position. Nourah started his career as a TV producer at the Nigerian Television Authority, Kano in 1982. He would eventually rise to the position of Senior Producer/Director at the NTA.
In 1988, he made a career shift from the media to the financial services sector when he accepted a position as Public Affairs Manager at Gidauniya Investments & Securities, a dealing member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. In this position, Nourah coordinated all internal and external communications of the firm, as well as government and regulator relations. After two years at the stock broking firm, Nourah took up the challenge of banking when he joined the Investment and Financial systems department at United Bank for Africa in 1991 as a sub-manager.
In 1996, Nourah resumed at IAA Associates, the funds management consultants. He was duly seconded to the Petroleum (Special) Trust Fund (PTF) as an engagement Project Manager. His last position at the sovereign wealth intervention agency was Senior Consultant & Special Assistant to the Project Director. Between 1999 and 2001, Nourah was the Head of Intercity Bank's Credit Department and later Branch Manager (Abuja). Nourah, who had risen to the position of Assistant General Manager, was appointed the Head of Human Resources of Intercity Bank. He also chaired the bank's Editorial Board.
n 2005 Nourah was appointed as the Director of Human Resources of Cement Company of Northern Nigeria (CCNN), Sokoto, a Nigerian Stock Exchange listed company. Nourah was later appointed as the Assistant Vice President, Corporate Services of The Infrastructure Bank Plc, Abuja. His portfolio of responsibilities covered Human Resources & Staff Welfare, Organizational Development Services, Corporate Property, Health & Safety and Corporate Communications. Before this position, Nourah was the Deputy General Manager, Corporate Services of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc., a position he held in May, 2009 - September, 2011.
A well-rounded cross-functional professional, Nourah has served as a member and chair of several private sector and government-affiliated committees. His professional affiliations include the Nigerian Institute of Management, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, and Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC), Nigeria.
In recognition of his contributions, Nourah was a recipient of both state and national NTA Merit Awards for the best TV Producer in 1982 and 1983 respectively. In 1984, he was selected to be one of the pioneer Producers for Distant Learning Programs at BBC Open University, Milton Keynes, UK, in preparation for the take-off of Nigerian Open University.
Nourah graduated with BA (Hons) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (Class of '81). He also holds an MBA from the University of Wales, Cardiff, United Kingdom (Class of '94). He has attended several professional and specialist courses on human capital development and planning, industrial relations, finance, media and strategy within Nigeria and abroad.
Nourah is an alumnus of the prestigious Lagos Business School's Senior Management Program (SMP 22).
