Mrs Halima A Yakubu is a self-motivated, consistent and focused mother, who has nearly twenty years of working experience in health care provision, both in the public and private sectors, in the UK and Nigeria respectively. Halima has made a career in global health and specialized in policy making and managing patient outcomes. She has strong financial and budgetary controls, and over the years, she has had multiple interfaces with a variety of health care providers, which has equipped her with deep knowledge and solutions to health and social problems that affect our peoples and societies. Halima is a qualified pharmacist, in addition to obtaining an MSc in International Health Management.

By her professional callings, Halima specializes in identifying quality of medicines supplied to patients and ensuring all medicines are procured within the law and are suitably prescribed. In addition, she has possessed great communication skills and always eager to support and render necessary care to the less privileged and exposed individuals.

Halima started her career at the Medical Services Centre of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Abuja in 2005, where she supervised the medicines supply chain and rendered professional advice on safe and effective use of medicines, and provided pharmaceutical care for in-and-out patients in medical facilities. She had earlier served as Basic Grade Pharmacist at both St. George's Hospital Tooting, London and North Middlesex Hospital, London from March 2001 to August 2003, after she held the position of a Relief Manager/Community Pharmacist at Moss Chemists, Feltham, U.K, between August 2000 and March 2001.

Mrs A Yakubu attended St. Andrew's College, Cambridge, for her Advanced Levels studies and King's College, London, where she graduated with B Pharm in 1999, before she proceeded to Imperial College, London for her MSc in International Health Management October 2016.

Halima's expertise and professional skills cover the areas of a team player in multi-disciplinary healthcare, excellent communication skills, and software solutions for managing business operations and customer relationships, for both IT and medical information systems.

With her many years of professional and work experiences in pharmaceutical practice, health care services and high-level management skills, Halima has been well trained to identify and treat a wide range of chronic diseases, offer preventive and manage the various treatment options. She is also highly proficient in the provision of qualitative health care, to achieve improved health outcomes. Some of these professional qualities have brought Halima to Iya Patu Foundation as the Lead-Emerging Businesses.
